Sound You Won't Forget

Bio
Canaan Strachan was born on the tranquil island of New Providence in the Bahamas. He received his early education in the Bahamian Catholic System and then at the tender age of 14yrs to a small Catholic School in Florida where he obtained his Diploma. Canaan then went on to Full Sail University where he studied Recording Arts. He is a recent graduate having completed with a Bachelor of Arts Degree with Honors and the Course Directors Award in Live Audio. It’s no surprise that Canaan would pursue a career in music as he comes from a long line of musicians in his family. The rich tradition could not escape him and his obvious love of goatskin drums – the heartbeat/pulse of the Bahamian sound was always his destiny. Canaan spent much of his early years rooted in Junkanoo(arguably the greatest expression of Bahamian Culture); where he learned the skill of costume construction and musical arrangements. For this reason, he can be found heading home every Christmas, not for a tree and presents, but for the exhilarating energy that only the Junaknoo parades can provide. “I love music and want to stamp my existence on this planet by creating and contributing to the universal language of ‘MUSIC’. It is my hope to seek out, develop and expose top artist from around the world, but particularly those from my home country and the wider Caribbean Region”.
